Which images compress well
Large photographs with natural texture often allow meaningful size reduction before artifacts become obvious. Screenshots, small text, logos, and flat graphics can show damage sooner. If a screenshot is already PNG, resizing excessive dimensions may be safer than forcing it through aggressive lossy compression.
