Where WebP helps

Format converter
Save JPG photos as WebP when you want a modern web-friendly output format for websites or content publishing.
WebP can reduce size, but the result depends on the source image and your chosen quality setting.
Convert JPG images to WebP
Drag images here, choose files, or paste from your clipboard. You can add several images and convert them together in your browser.

A WebP quality number is not directly equivalent to the same JPG quality number. Start around 80, inspect faces, fine texture, and gradients, then lower the value gradually if a smaller file is needed. The best setting depends on the specific image rather than a universal number.
Keep the JPG original, resize a copy to the actual display dimensions, convert that copy to WebP, and test it on the target page. This avoids serving oversized files and gives you a dependable JPG source if another platform does not accept WebP.
