Why AVIF is used
AVIF can deliver efficient compression for modern websites and may support transparency and advanced color information. Those benefits also make decoding more dependent on current browser and operating-system capabilities. An AVIF that displays in one app may still fail in another upload workflow.
Use a compatible fallback
When local AVIF decoding is unavailable, export JPG for photographs or PNG for graphics and transparency using software that can read the original correctly. Do not delete the AVIF until the fallback has been opened and checked for orientation, color, transparency, and dimensions.
